Feeding Tour

Lunchtime for the animals!

The best time to visit the park is during the afternoon feeding when all the animals become active! This educational tour is guided by an experienced zookeeper, eager to answer any questions you might have about these amazing creatures.

The tour starts at 1:30pm daily, beginning with the African Lions, followed by the Amur Tigers, Eurasian Lynx, Striped Hyenas, Gray Wolves, Snow Leopards, Amur Leopards and Jaguars. Primates, such as the Capuchin, Spider Monkeys, Ring-tailed Lemurs and Gibbons are fed shortly afterwards.

This was the best trip I have taken my family on. It was the closest we had ever been to these kinds of animals. Yes, the Lions, tigers, wolves, monkeys, jaguars, cougars, lemurs, etc. were in cages, but the cages are set up so that you can be a few feet from the animals (if the animal wants) and you are as safe from them as possible. I want to thank the staff and owners for such a wonderful experience. Your love of animals and knowledge is very apparent.

What do they eat?
Most of the animals are carnivores, getting their energy and nutrient requirements from a diet consisting mainly of meat. We feed unprocessed food, usually raw portions of chicken, cow and deer. The primates are mostly frugivorous, enjoying a variety of fruits with some greens and specially formulated “monkey chow”.

We accept food donations!
Anytime you clean out your freezer, fridge or pantry, think twice before throwing anything out. Even food that isn’t part of their regular diet can be used for behavioural enrichment projects. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us to make arrangements.
