The draft guideline on the assessment and management of thyroid disease has now been published. This is a consultation document so if you would like to submit comments on the draft you can send them to us by email.

Some recent media reports have suggested that patients with hypothyroidism may receive no benefit from levothyroxine. Please read our short statement which seeks to clarify some of the facts which were presented.

BTF Founder and Project Manager Janis Hickey received her MBE from HRH Prince Charles at the investiture at Buckingham Palace on 4 April 2019. Janis said ‘What a wonderful event it was, and lovely to meet other recipients from different walks of life and hear about their work. It was a proud moment to walk into the Ballroom to receive the award and discuss the BTF with HRH Prince Charles, who was interested in the work we do.’ She’s pictured (second from right) with her family after the ceremony.

We are delighted to announce the winners of the BTF Research Awards 2019. For the first time we’re awarding two grants of £20,000 to projects which will fund research into thyroid cancer and congenital hypothyroidism.
