Day 4 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!
Hello friends: It’s day four of the carnivore diet experiment! I have been doing some research and I have realized that I am experiencing the carnivore flu. The carnivore flu which is similar to the keto flu. The carnivore flu is a collection of symptoms experienced by some people when they first start the carnivore diet without being fat adapted. These symptoms, which can feel similar to the flu, are caused by the body adapting to a new diet consisting of very little carbohydrates.
If I had went from doing the ketogenic diet to the carnivore diet, my transition would have been flawless. As I mentioned, in a previous blog, I had veered off for about 3 months. I was doing intermittent fasting. However, I was eating all kinds of junk during my eating window. I started back on sugar filled snacks and I noticed myself going down that slippery slope. In any event, what I needed was more salt. I added more salt to my steak. We shall she if these flu like symptoms disappear.
Many hard core carnivores do not take supplements. I will admit that I am not a hard core carnivore just yet. Therefore, I am doing this experiment cautiously. I may not be doing this carnivore diet experiment the way that you want me to. I need to do what works for me. Just keep in mind that this journey is an experiment. So there will be lots of trail and error. I will be adjusting my protocol throughout until I find that sweet spot!
Today’s meal was steak and jerk chicken wings. Everything was delicious!
